For 32-bit systems (or to be able to run 32-bit applications or games on 64-bit), use the following command to install the 32-bit runtime:įlatpak install flathub 元2.nvidia-MAJORVERSION-MINORVERSION.
#Ubuntu failed to load module canberra gtk module driver#
Minor version of the minor version (48 in my step 2 example).įor example, to install the runtime for Nvidia graphics driver version 390.48, you must use the following command: flatpak install flathub .nvidia-390-48 Replace MAJORVERSION with the major version of the Nvidia driver installed on the computer (390 in the example above), then

The following instructions are for Ubuntu (and Ubuntu style), but I hope you can figure out the version of the Nvidia driver installed on your system.įor this, please open in Ubuntu Software & Updates, Switch to Additional Drivers Label and note the name of the Nvidia driver package.įor example, this is nvidia-driver-390 In my case, as you can see here:įlatpak install flathub .nvidia-MAJORVERSION-MINORVERSION This step depends on the Linux distribution you are using, and I cannot cover all situations. Now you need to determine the exact version of the proprietary Nvidia driver installed on the system. You can find exact instructions about the Linux distribution Here.2. Add FlatHub repository (if not already added). To fix Flatpak games and applications that cannot be started when using OpenGL with a proprietary Nvidia graphics driver, you need to install a runtime for the currently installed proprietary Nvidia driver. Winepak games (Windows games bundled with Wine as a Flatpak package) also seem to influenced Through this Flatpak problem, Still open since 2016. In theory we could eliminate the error message by including libcanberra in the PHENIX installer, but this is really overkill, and the installer is already massive and complex. Some applications and games built with OpenGL support and packaged as Flatpak cannot start with the proprietary Nvidia driver. I actually have it installed on an Ubuntu system at work and PHENIX still gives me the error message, because the module is installed as part of the system's copy of GTK, not PHENIX's. Somehow GTK is being told to load the module anyway, and it can't find it in the expected modules directory (again, in PHENIX). We package PHENIX with a full installation of GTK (to ensure that it runs on as many systems as possible), but it does not include the canberra module, and the module isn't even present on the system we use to build the binary installer for 32-bit Linux. Longer answer: I think the problem is actually a conflicting GTK configuration somewhere on the host system. Ubuntu is Debian-based, and uses a different package management system. > If you install the rpm libcanberra-gtk2 maybe it will remove this message. > Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module": libcanberra-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory On start up I am getting the following message:
